About Court Street Baptist Church
established in 1789 | oldest Baptist church in Portsmouth & Norfolk
Court Street Baptist Church is the mother church of several other congregations. The present sanctuary's Romanesque Revival design by Reuben H. Hunt, one of the South's most prominent architects early in the 20th century, was completed in 1903. The current membership is active in the community, and has supported the Court Street Academy school for K3 - 1st grade for over 55 years.
